History of the Worcestershire Branch
of the Richard III Society 1982 - 1989

1982 First attempts to start a Hereford and Worcester group. A few meetings but then it all flounders. All goes quiet until:
1986 The group restarts with an inaugural meeting on Saturday April 12th attended by fifteen people. It was agreed to meet once a month on the second Saturday of the month. Trips to Tewkesbury and Bosworth.
1987 A full year of meetings. Two members gave a talk to South Worcester Probus Club. First group trip to York for the banquet organised by the Yorkshire Branch. A report on the group appeared in the Malvern Gazette and Ledbury Reporter on October 30th. Other trips to Minster Lovell, Bosworth, Mortimer's Cross and Wigmore Castle.
1988 Trips to Great Malvern Priory, Little Malvern Priory, Gloucester and Ludlow.
1989 Sent £75 to the appeal for funds for Sutton Cheney Church. Trips to Warwick Castle, Minster Lovell, Bosworth, Stokesay Castle and York for the banquet weekend in October.
