Portraits Of Richard In Unlikely Places

Article from page 24 of Dickon Independent issue 47

There’s a picture of Richard III hanging on the wall in the pub in Worcester called The Swan With Two Nicks. It’s a very old pub with a history traced back to 1551 but built before then, and is usually associated with Charles I and Charles II. The upstairs restaurant is called Kings. A picture of every king of England once adorned its walls, though some have now gone missing, and some have moved downstairs into the bar. Richard is one of the latter, according to his namesake (my eldest son).
