The Denver "Richard III" Revisited

Geoffrey Wheeler also sent me a surprise update on the whereabouts of this portrait, thought to be still in America in the Denver Art Museum. See “Dickon Independent” 44, pages 2 - 12.

The portrait was commissioned by a descendant of William Sheldon of Beoley who fought for Richard III at Bosworth. It now belongs to Sir Tim Rice and was the first portrait you saw on entering the recent three day exhibition at Christie’s!

Geoffrey also included a copy of a Time Out review dating from December 30 2003 of the Channel 4 programmes (Fact or Fiction: Richard III and Britain’s Real Monarch) which was illustrated by the portrait.
