A lot of people want to see King Richard III buried in York Minster and there is an online petition supporting this. As I understand the law though, remains are always buried as close to where they are found as possible.

Northamptonshire County Council has put an early play about Richard III on show at the record office. It is one of only eleven copies in existence and was written by Thomas Legge ten years before Shakespeare did his version.

A rare book signed by Richard III when Duke of Gloucester has been found in the library at Longleat House in Wiltshire. It contains tales of chivalry, classical history, and two of the less bawdy Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer. Above his signature are the words “Tant le desiree” which means So much desired. He signed it in the middle - a good move as it would be impossible to remove his signature without spoiling the book.

A Victorian painting of Richard leaving the White Boar Inn in Leicester was bought by the university for twice the estimated price. The artist, John Fulleylove, is one of Leicester’s most famous artists.

Readers of Current Archaeology voted Leicester University’s search for Richard III as research project of the year.

100 white roses have been laid at the sundial at Bosworth Battlefield Centre by the Richard III Society and other invited guests. It didn’t say in the report on 3 March but as the Society had a big conference in Leicester on the 2 March, I think it was part of that.
